winsock2.2.exe

A virus has infected my winsock2.2.exe, and I had to
quarintine it. How can I replace this file with a non
infected version? Can I copy it off of the Win XP CD
directly, and if so, where would it be located? Thanks

There is NO such file as winsock2.2.exe! That file is probably the
virus carrier - you don't want it back. The correct winsock file is
called winsock.exe and is located in c:\windows\system32.
