After using Norton Antivirus to remove infections,
Windows XP message at startup says it cannot find the
file winlogin.exe. How will this affect performance? No
XP disk came with my Dell computer, so is there a way to
replace this missing file?

WinlogON.exe is the Windows file. WinlogIN.exe is not. Most likely it is a
file that was created by the infection. Norton removed the file but not the
call to run it. Visit the Symantec website. Use their search engine to look
up the name Norton used to indentify the problem. You should get a link to
a page that outlines the steps needed to manually clean up the rest of the
problems the infection caused.
