we are going to have to reformat our hard drive and then
reload XP home addition. How do we reactivate it so it
will continue to run.

Hi

Why do you need to reformat? If you post your problems here, someone may be
able to help you before a reformat. A 'Repair' install may help or if not a
'Clean' install. The two following articles by MVP Michael Stevens will
help:

"How to Perform a Windows XP Repair Install"
http://michaelstevenstech.com/XPrepairinstall.htm

"Clean Install Windows XP"
http://michaelstevenstech.com/cleanxpinstall.html

If you haven't 'substantially' changed the hardware on your system, then you
should be able to activate without any problems. Have a look the following
article by MVP Alex Nichol:

"Windows Product Activation (WPA) on Windows XP"
http://aumha.org/win5/a/wpa.htm
