Windows XP error

I have Microsoft Office XP Professional for a class and it
will not install the Windows Installer. When I load the
software it is not showing up on the computer so that I
can use Excell etc. Here is the message that I am
receiving. This patch package could not be opened.
Verify that the patch package exists and that you can
access it, or contact the application vendor to verify
that this is a valid windows Installer patch package. Has
anyone had this problem? How did you resolve the problem?

Bessie,
Clear all Temp directories and run setup again. Ask in office.setup group.
