Windows Time process will not start

Hello,
I am trying to get the Windows time process to start on my WIN XP Pro SP2
laptop but it gives me an error that says: "Error 1058 the service cannot be
started because it must be disbled or has no enabled devices associated with
it". The service is set to Automatic at startup. If I go to the Time
window and try to synch the time manually it says the RPC server is not
available.

Any ideas what this may be?

THANKS IN ADVANCE!!!
