Windows Mail Not Delivered to One Addressee

P

Paul DeVivo

Running Vista Home Premium with Vista Mail. Have Norton Internet Security
suite Ver 10.2.0.30 (I know, I know) with outbound email scanning turned
off.

POP email to one addressee is never delivered; everyone else, AFAIK is
delivered. Tried sending to this person (on optonline.net) using two
different POP servers (acmenet and yahoo); no deliveries. Sent mail from
the web interfaces of these two providers, and mail delivered no problem. I
am a dial-up client.

Had a friend with Vista Home Premium send a Windows Mail message to this
person; no problem. This person using AVG free anti-virus.

Anything to check before remmoving Norton? I have 15 months left on my
subscription. If I remove it and that is not the problem, it will take a
lot of time to get it back with with all the updates using dial-up.

If a copy of the message is found in Sent Items, the problem lies somewhere
outside of Windows Mail.

1. After making certain you have a copy of your Product Key, uninstall all
Norton software via Add/Remove Programs.

2. Enable the Windows Firewall.

3. Run this removal tool:
http://service1.symantec.com/SUPPORT/tsgeninfo.nsf/docid/2005033108162039

4. Immediately install the 30-day free trial version of, e.g., NOD32* or
KAV7**

5. Manually update your new anti-virus application then run a full system
scan.

Do your problems persist now?

[Don't forget to subscribe to your new AV app or uninstall it then reinstall
the Norton application before the free-trial period expires! Should you
decide to reinstall the Norton application, I recommend not installing any
Norton Add-ons for a while.]
