or who are helping me.

Yeah nothing wrong with that, if you prefer it that way.

About what Gary said, yes, you will get a bunch of spam if you publicize
your real email in newsgroups. But on the other hand, if you don't publicize
it, you will *still* get a bunch of spam (LOL...!) Such is life.

Gary ... you are so right ... and I am so glad I found it that it was not
only _OK_ not to use my real e-mail address but absolutely essential to get
a 'misdirect' e-mail addy in newsgroups. I tried to read and post in
newsgroups many years ago without knowing _anything_ about hardening and
using my real e-mail ... I got slammed, infected and taken over in no time.
Back then, I thought I would be a 'dishonest' person if I didn't say who I
really was and use my correct e-mail and properly and truthfully fill out my
profile ... what a naive newbie. So I am back to try again ... this is a
good place to find out the stuff I _need_ to know ... and learn how to
deploy wards and spells (g) ...

I've been using the Internet for about fifteen years now. If there's a
SPAMmer who doesn't already have my address, (s)he doesn't deserve
the title! 8^) My SPAM filter hasn't failed me yet. Besides how else
would I ever have the opportunity to grow certain body parts longer and
thicker,
get a share of a dead guy in Nigeria's huge estate, get my PhD online in
minutes or take advantage of any other miraculous offers that would grace my
inbox
if they weren't already being deleted as they are received? I love reading
SPAM.
I also watch all the infomercials from beginning to end and would buy most
of the
products if I had unlimited funds! That woman in the Magic Bullet ad who
has the
cigarette hanging out the corner of her mouth cracks me up every time.

Ha! As long as you and your ISP can handle the capacity, I guess why not?
