I cannot activate my windows automatic updater. When I go into 'system -
automatic updater' , the section 'turn off automatic updater' has been
chosen and is grey. I cannot choose the section ' automatic
updates(recommended)' . Somthing is preventing me from choosing this option!
Anyone know 1.what is stopping me from choosing my prefered optoin?
2.what can I do about it?

Follow this path: Performance&Maintenance,administrative tools,componen
services,services,automatic updates.

Now click on Log On and Enable.

Now go to General and in Startup Type choose Automatic.

And a bit lower in Service Status make sure you Start the service.

Hope this helps!

1. Check the Service Manager for "Automatic Update" service
Click Start, select Run and type: Services.msc

Locate the - "Automatic Update"
Make sure the service is not disabled and started.

2. If the service is disabled and cannot be started:
