'Windows 2000 Help' Script Errors

H

Herb

Windows 2000
Version 5.00.2195 Service Pack 4

Use Netscape 4.79
MSIE 5.5
Also use Spybot S&D and very recently added Spyware Blaster, plus Norton
and System Suite anti-virus programs  (telling you all this info cuz I
don't know what's relevant)

Have recently removed some BHOs from 'puter. Reinstalled Service Pack 4
and Office 2000 trying to fix this error:

When I use Windows Help and click on text-links within the Help program,
I get a pop-up window indicating script errors.  Pop-up window says:

"An error has occurred in this script
Line 519
Character 9
Error: Object doesn't support this property or method
Code:  0
URL: MK@MSITStore:C:WINNT\Help\nthelp.chm::/htmhelp_overview.htm"

Do you want to continue running this script?"

That's the detail. Advice?  Thanx,

There is something in SP4 that breaks the registry entries for the
HTML Help ActiveX control, which is the component that provides the
navigation facilities in the help files. Probably a security patch for
Internet Explorer is to blame.

Most people find that they can fix this problem by unregistering the
HTML Help ActiveX control and then re-registering it. To do this, open
a Command Prompt window and enter the following two commands:

regsvr32 /u <drive>:\winnt\system32\hhctrl.ocx
regsvr32 <drive>:\winnt\system32\hhctrl.ocx
