Errors in scripts on Help pages

M

Michel Merlin

UntitledMy Windows 2000 works quite well, but for 1 or 2 years
now it has had the following flaw:
Start \Help \Index \print queues \overview, clicking "user name"
gives me:

____________________________________________________________
| Internet Explorer Script Error

|____________________________________________________________
| An error has occured in the script on this page.
| !
| Line: 443
| Char: 9
| Error: Object doesn't support this property or method
| Code: 0
| URL:
mk:mad:MSITStore:C:\WINDOWS\Help\printing.chm::/print_que
| ue_view_window.htm
|
|
| Do you want to continue running scripts on this
page?
| | Yes | | No |

|____________________________________________________________

Very similar errors happen on about any link in the Help system,
making that Help system useless. So I got used to never try to
use the Help system.

Anyone can help? TIA,

Return your Microsoft Internet Explorer back to a prior version. Reboot and clean up.

Apply your Service Pack again. Reboot

In regedit (Start | Run | regedit | OK) navigate to

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Active Setup\Installed Components\{44BBA840-CC51-11CF-AAFA-00AA00B6015C}

Change the value
IsInstalled to 0

Reinstall the Microsoft Internet Explorer Version you want. Reboot.

Get this fix and apply it:

http://support.microsoft.com/?scid=kb;en-us;811630

reboot.

Apply ONLY critical updates to Microsoft Internet Explore at or later than October 2003. Reboot.

That should fix it.
