Windows 2000 hangs up

I get to the "Microsoft Windows 2000" screen and at the bottom it says "starting up..." and a progress bar goes to the end and just hangs, so the system never boots up. I have read where someone else had the same problem and they updated the video driver. My question is how to connect to the Internet and update/download a video driver if you cannot get the system to come up?

I have thought about downloading the driver to a cd and trying to install it to the hard disk that way but wasn't sure if it would work. Any help would be greatly appreciated
