window size and positions

Is there a program or way that I can make certain windows 'REMEMBER' their
size and position?
I use a Matrox dual monitor system and high resolution.
So some programs open to a window that could be made full size.
I also have to move some windows to the other screen and adjust size.

It would sure be nice to have a way to make the window open on the screen
and in the size/position it was closed in.

Matrox provides such a feature but it doesn't work with all programs.

OE, IE and Windows Explorer windows will reopen to the same size if you
stretch the window to the size and position you want with your mouse and
then close the window by clicking on File and then Close. I've found that
this also works on some application windows.

Yes, I should have said that this is not part of my problem.
It's windows that open from inside a program that I'm referring to.
For instance, one of my programs opens a window that has a report with data
derived from the main program.
I have to resize it every time to read the full page.

It's that type of window that I'd like to have memorized.
