Is is possible to install XP over Win2k. Trying to do the change as easy as
possible,
can I just install the new OS without blasting the HD ? And if I can, what
problems
might I have by doing it the half___ed way ?

Thanks,
TK

Yes, you can upgrade Win2000 to WinXP. However,
accidents to happen, hence it's a good idea to back up
your data files first.

You cannot upgrade Win2k to XP home only to XP pro. If you try to
install XP home you will get a dual-boot system.

So, with XP Home I would have dual boot that would allow me at boot to select
which OS I want to use ? And with XP Pro, I could install and it would
overwrite 2K ?

I understood that the file system with XP was different from 2K, will this
cause problems and can I still run all the programs I use under 2K ?

Thanks for the assist.

Yes, but you must have a second partition for WinXP.

This is myth. Win2000 and WinXP can read FAT, FAT32 and
NTFS partitions with equal ease.
