Wifi problems

Hello to everyone, i recently buy a new dell laptop with vista home, i have
several problems with wifi networks, but odd ones, i have a wifi network at
home, the vista there works perfectly. But I try to use it on my college, and
it connects to the wifi network but i can't access any website. do anyone
else have the same issue?

do you get an IP?

you haven't given much info.

yes i get an IP, and get the gateway, but when i try to ping the gateway it
gives me timeout. the network dont have any security its a public wifi
network. i have some friends with xp on their laptops and works great with
it.

I try to put the ip fixed, dont resolve any website

do u have any idea to resolve these problem?

kind of security does this network use?)

sorry, won't use images for info on ipconfig so please supply
ipconfig /all as text

start
programs
accessories
command prompt (right click and select run as administrator and
acknowledge the prompt)

ipconfig /all [enter]

click the icon on the menubar on the left and then edit, select all
(it will turn white)

click the icon in the menubar again then edit, copy

this copies to the clipboard.
paste into a reply

Ok i will send to you the ipconfig in text. the network does not have any
login security, it has a proxy server but in my xp machine i never configure
it. I dont try the DHCP flag because the college DHCP gives me an ip. but i
will try it anyway on friday. i try to ping the dns server and it find it,
but still not working with websites. thanks for your help.

I already try the and modify the DHCP flag, and still not working. Any other
suggestion? thanx for your time

ok i will try to disable it, yes its the only wifi network i cannot connect,
i have one at home, works almost perfect (sometimes its disconnect but i
connect manually again), and other one at one and it connects without any
trouble. i dont know if it works but when i try to ping a friends machine
with vista at my college network it doesnt respond to...i can only find the
dns, i think i cannot find the gateway too...

well i disable de IPv6, and still doesnt work. any other solution anyone?
reinstalling xp? jajaja
