Why cant I open more than one IE Window?

I have IE 6 with Windows XP. I am not able to open more then one IE window at
a time. I have tryed downloading a Java script (only helped with being able
to play Yahoo games), changed settings, I have even use Ctrl-N. I have turned
off pop-up blocker. I have gone to several different links listed in this
newsgroups refering to the same problem. I have picked the minds of the Virus
protection provider. Its a simple problem of not being able to open more than
one IE window at a time. Yet very difficault for me to figure out. When I
click on a link or try to open a NEW window IE it closes the pervious window.
Any ideas?

Go to Tools | Internet Options | Advanced.
Uncheck "Reuse windows for launching shortcuts".

Also, if you have Yahoo Companion, Google toolbar, MSN toolbar, a firewall,
Earthlink (or another pop-up blocker) My IE2 (a shell for IE) etc.
Yahoo Companion is a very common cause.

You'll have to turn off the feature that's blocking new windows or, perhaps,
uninstall the program (especially uninstall Yahoo Companion).

With some programs of this type, using Ctrl+click or Shift+click will allow
a new window.

If you're *sure* that another program isn't causing this, these links may
help.

Frank,

I have already gone through all posible settings inclueding the one you
listed. I dont have that I am aware of these other programs that you have
listed. Considering I am the sole user of this computer. My firewall on or
off does not make a difference, nor my pop up blocker. The links that you
have listed below have not worked. I dont know what else to do....

Hi,
Sorry to harp on this, but take another look for the Yahoo toolbar... IE>
View> Toolbars. I know of a few cases where people thought they had
uninstalled it, but it was still blocking new windows.
