IE - one browser window at a time

IE 6.0, windows XP -- could someone please help with with an IE issue? before
my last windows update I could open more than one browser window at a time,
now when I open one the other closes out. please tell me where to repair this.

Try the following and see if it helps:

How to allow multiple windows
First, Yahoo installations have been known to cause this problem. If you
have Yahoo toolbar disable it, or if you have Yahoo Companion uninstall it.

If you have any 3rd party toolbars such as Google, MSN, or others, disable
them. If you have Yahoo Companion, uninstall it. If you have any 3rd party
software, popup or ad blockers, disable them.

and...

Go to Tools>Internet Options> Advanced tab
UNcheck "Reuse windows for launching shortcuts"
Click Apply
Close IE and reopen then see if the problem still exists
