IE 6 can only open 1 window at a time - help?

This problem just developed recently. When I'm connected to the internet and
either a) open a new window from the file menu or b) click a link that
specifies a "_blank" target, the browser opens the new site (or blank window)
in a new window and closes the window of origin.

The problem is that IE simply won't let me open more than one window at a
time.

Any thoughts on how to solve this...is it a setting in IE somewhere?

Thank you so much for any help ~

Hi pauly B :)

You don't mention the version of Windows you are using, which really is a
must when asking for help in the newsgroups, but, try the following and see
if it helps:

Go to Tools> Internet Options> Advanced.
Uncheck "Reuse windows for launching shortcuts".

Also, if you have Yahoo Companion, Google toolbar, MSN toolbar, a firewall,
Earthlink (or another pop-up blocker) My IE2 (a shell for IE) etc.
Yahoo Companion is a very common cause.

You'll have to turn off the feature that's blocking new windows or, perhaps,
uninstall the program (especially uninstall Yahoo Companion).

With some programs of this type, using Ctrl+click or Shift+click will allow
a new window.

If you're *sure* that another program isn't causing this, these links may
help.
