Where did the "General" tab go under internet options?

D

Dave Yacko

Over the weekend Explorer V. 6.0 lost the "General" tab
under "Internet Options". I tried downloading SP1 for
V6.0 but that didn't help, and still no "General" tab.
Therefore I am unable to change my home page, delete
history and cookies, etc. The only tabs that remain are
Security, Privacy, Content, Connections and Advanced. Any
help on how to rectify this situation would be appreciated.

Looking for help on same topic...did you ever get an
answer? Had it happen to me in ie5.5 and thought
upgrading to 6.0 would bring General tab back...no dice.

Most likely you have been affected by an "aggressive" pop-
up that attempts to reset your home page then removes
several Internet Options tabs to make it difficult for you
to undo their changes. It uses the policy keys in the
registry to do this.

A tool that will undo these changes can be found at

tm.

I hope this helps.
