"General" tab missing under "tools"

My General Tab, under internet options, which is under
tools is missing. Have the other 5 tabs (Security,
privacy, content, connections, advanced)but not the
general tab.

Any suggestions?

Hi Josh,

Reset the Internet Explorer tabs and remove all the browser restrictions.
Download the script from:

Also, refer Fix 268 from Kelly's site:

Restore All tabs in IE and Removes the ** Internet Options ** Restrictions
as well


The problem is due to a spyware. Download Ad-Aware from www.lavasoftusa.com,
scan the system and eliminate the malware products. Re-apply the above fix
if necessary.
** Remember to update the pattern file using WebUpdate in Ad-Aware **

Hi Josh - This has been showing up a lot lately and seems to be caused by
some malware called CoolWebSearch. Do the following:
Download and run: http://www.spywareinfo.com/~merijn/files/cwshredder.zip to
remove the parasite

Then download and run:
http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/regs_edits/iegentabs.reg to restore your
tabs and remove any restrictions that the parasite has put in place.
