when I click on "Tools" then "Internet Options", only 5
tabs show up. They are "General, Privacy, Content,
Connections, and Programs". There is not a tab
for "Advanced" options. Does anyone know why this tab is
missing on my browser. I am running IE6 and Windows XP.
Please help?

The "why" may be malware.

Start-Run-Regedit
There could be more than one "AdvancedTab" value.
Try these keys first and then search for AdvancedTab (no space)

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Internet
Explorer\Control Panel

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Internet
Explorer\Control Panel

Remove "AdvancedTab" if present.

Do the same for SecurityTab (which you didn't mention missing)

Alan, you are truly a GURU!!!! Your solution worked like
a charm! One question, what is malware?

That is because Spybot cannot cause this problem.

I'm curious if you have any idea how this setting came to be set on your
system.
