With the exception of support for Exchange IM and SIP-based Communications Services
(including Live Communications Server 2003), the older interface that some people prefer, and
the fact that you'd only have one Messenger client installed, I can't think of any "new"
feature in Windows Messenger 5 that isn't in MSN Messenger 6.1.

On slower PCs, Windows Messenger (any version) is noticeably more zipper then MSN Messenger
6.x. Windows Messenger does take up less bandwidth, but mainly only because it doesn't
support display pictures and custom emoticons (features that you can turn off in MSN
Messenger 6.x).
