weird home page loads

when I connect to the internet instead of opening my home
page I get the following without the quotes "M/'>here"
What the heck is that? I can get to my home page
eventually by going through other pages and then
(sometimes)clicking the little house on my toolbar.

First eliminate any scumware.

Note that AdAware and SpyBot S & D will each catch some things the other
won't. Also, each needs to be updated before every use, even when just
downloaded. There's also a lot more to do than just those two programs.
