Web pages produce "debug" error message

T

Tom

On viewing some web pages I get an error message window
that says

"a run time error has occurred,
do you wish to debug?

Line 1
Error: Invalid Character"

I get the same result either clicking yes or no. I have
to enter this twice, then it appears to proceed normally.

With some web pages a debug utility appears.

This started today on trying to view
http://www.businessweek.com/

Trying to access this page produces several of
these 'debug' error messages, apparently trying to ge me
to 'debug' certain lines of the HTML code that make up the
web page. I have not seen this before today.

I use Windows XP-Home and I.E. 6. Norton Anti-Virus is
also installed.

I recently had to re-install Windows XP-Home.

Thank you
