IE debug error

Often now I get an error telling me that I need to debug. Now today it's
telling me something about visual+ and needs to close. It does this often
now. When I say "debug", it just confuses me. Then is shuts down IE and I
have to start all over.
What am I missing? What am I doing wrong?
Thanks for any ideas.

Hi Theresa,
check the option in the IE properties under Browsing option:
[ ] Disable Script Debugging check this box
[ ] Display a notification about every Script error Uncheck this Box

Look under this Option and see what selected:
Microsoft VM
[ ]
[ ]
[ ] select the third option

P.S If no joy write back with your OS specs (i.e. Xp, IE6, AVs... etc).

Since installing the latest Microsoft updates I too have been experiencing a
ton of IE crashes. "IE has encountered a problem and needs to close" or
something to that effect. It then gives me the option to either Debug or
Close. I never experienced this prior to installing the most recent update.

I know it's not a malware problem as I use F-Secure as well as AVG Free in
addition to Ad-Aware, Spybot S&D and A-Squared. I have also utilized several
online scanners - I'm clean.

I have run Scandisk to check for errors and even re-installed XP but IE
continues to crash. I'll try your suggestion nass and let you know if it
makes a difference.

XP Home 2002 SP2
IE 6.0.2900
F-SECURE, AVG FREE

Nass,

Further to my previous post, in your reply to Theresa you mentioned
something about Microsoft VM. Where do I find this option? In Internet
Properties under the Advanced tab the only subheadings I see are
Accessibility, Browsing, Underline Links, HTTP 1.1 Settings, Multimedia,
Printing, Search From the Address Bar and Security.

Hi Nass,

In regards to your suggestion about the Script Debugging and Notification
options these were already set so that can't be the problem in my case. The
only other thing I can think of is a video card problem or faulty RAM
perhaps? It's just strange that this started happening after installing the
new MS update.
