I know, I know, this is not Virus-R-Us. Please accept my apologies .. I am
just seeking help anywhere.
I got this virus, and immediately went to Symantec for removal instructions.
It is listed as "Removal: Easy". I followed the steps, even through Safe
Mode. I have also isolated this hard drive to another machine (as a slave)
and ran complete Syware Doctor, AVG, AND Norton Anti-virus. EACH time the
results page shows it is a clean drive.
I plug the drive back into the desktop (Win XP) and shazamm, the Norton
Virus Caught window appears again with this virus.
Has anyone reading this ever dealt with this and able to give me any hints
as to how to finally remove this? Or maybe this virus has become seated in
the computer, apart from the hard drive. If so, how do I get it out of
THERE?
I am grateful for any help short of reformatting and reinstalling
everything.
Thank you for taking time to read this.

Kindest regards,

Go through the preparatory work here:
http://www.elephantboycomputers.com/page2.html#Removing_Malware

Include scanning with David Lipman's Multi_AV and Ewido. You will note that
all scans are done in Safe Mode.

Make sure you do the finishing-up work, too. If that doesn't help, run
HijackThis and post your log to one of the specialty forums listed at the
first link (not here, please).

Thank you for your reply. I will do all recommendations. I just wanted to
thank you for answering as I know I was in the 'wrong' place for asking.

Of course this is "Virus-R-Us". This is a Windoze newsgroup isn't it?

Thank you all, and I have subscribed to the MPSV newsgroup! :) Just for info: did the Elephant Boy's things and NO VIRUS FOUND. Still puzzled, so the newsgroups will help. THANX and for me, this thread is over and was VERY helpful.
