Thank you for reviewing this post. I am getting this error upon restarting
the computer: "Hardware.id missing"

The machine sems to be operating ok, but this message is a concern.

Please advise what this means and how I can keep it from returnng.

I have run a registry cleaner and Norton System Works. Neither changed this.

The BIOS on boot up queries all the devices, and they supply embedded
numbers (hardware.id) - this so the bios knows what it has to work
with.

If all is fine, no problem, the bios fit it in; but it could be a
precursor to problems in the future.
