Username Password Submition Problem

B

Ben

this is an intrusting one... when I try to access a page by submitting a
Username and Password in this form: http://username:[email protected] it
brings me to a instant 404 page and title says "invalid syntax" now I know
the username and password are correct so that's not it. other people were
able to access with a link, when I can not
what can be wrong?

Try the following:

Start/Run and type regedit.exe

Find the following keys in the Registry:

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Internet
Explorer\Main\FeatureControl]

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Internet
Explorer\Main\FeatureControl\FEATURE_HTTP_USERNAME_PASSWOR
D_DISABLE]

Then create or modify the following

"explorer.exe"=dword:00000000
"iexplore.exe"=dword:00000000

Make sure that you export any existing keys that you change before making
this change, or at least ensure you can roll back either by a Restore point
or a SCANREG/RESTORE.

Hope this helps,
Martin
