Unable to access forums requiring password

In the past few days I haven't been able to access any of my forums that
require a username and password. I am using IE 6. When I click on the
link, the window pops up and ask me for a username and password as usual. I
enter the info and the username/password window repeats itself as if I
entered the wrong info. I have check the usernames and passwords and they
are correct. I can access other forums that don't require a password.

Have any Ideas,

Thanks

I have checked the usernames and passwords with the forum moderators and
they are correct.

this is the message I get.

Did you just install the 832894 Security Update for IE? It could be causing
this. You can uninstall the update from Ctrl Panel> Add/remove to see if the
problem ceases.

If you want to keep the 832894 patch, the workarounds in this article may
help:

Check your cookies setting under privacy. My husband just had this problem with some customers' websites, and somehow his privacy setting had been set to high, and it wouldn't accept the cookies. When he moved it to medium, he was able to log in.
