User Experience with SPFDISK?

Am trying to undo a messed up Hard Drive Partition Table.

So far chkdsk has been the only util to identify that this HD has 3
hidden files and 6 user files that so far I have been unable to remove
using std DOS FDISK.

Have been searching for Partition Table utils and found SPFDISK
http://www.all4you.dk/FreewareWorld/SpFDISK-32375.html
http://spfdisk.sourceforge.net/ but so far have not found a user manual
or tutorial.

I have found a review
http://www.iceteks.com/articles.php/spfdiskreview/1 but it has a lot
more features than basic ones reviewed. The review does mention the
option of "Edit hard disk in raw mode (not recomended if you have no
clue what you're doing, but it's fun anyway)". I might even try it as
last resort

Hopefully someone has had some experience with it. It has a lot of
interesting features such as "Another option that I find great is the
ability to do a surface scan on a partition AND unallocated space!"

Checked '06 Pricelessware to see if it was hiding anywhere but nothing
http://www.google.com/search?ie=UTF...g&sitesearch=http://www.pricelesswarehome.org

Even checked ACF
http://groups.google.com/group/alt....&q=spfdisk&qt_g=1&searchnow=Search+this+group
while there were 3 hits

Was not able to open what seems to be the most interesting link
">SPFDISK
I have downloded and tried this software from Taiwan. It has a great
front end and can be very user friendly if revised to give on-line
help comments and a good manual in English. " do not know if it is my
connection? will try again.

I sent a reply to your previous post a few minutes ago
but it didn't seem to have been posted. Let me try again.
This is my first post, so please be patient.

A utility I've used in the past to completely remove
partitions is a small program called delpart. Use
Google to find it. Copy this utility into your Win9x
boot disk and at the prompt, just type delpart and
follow the instructions.

It's been a long time since I've used this program,
but if I can use it, I'm confident you can too.

Good luck

Another possible Ken, use your boot disk & at the A:\> type in > LOCK
C:

Now hit Enter.

Try Wipeout again.

Don't know if you tried Locking the HD Ken, LOCK sets it in a DOS
compatibility mode so disktools can directly access the drive.

The opposite command is UNLOCK C:

If anything you try works, make sure you reboot after fixing.

Without rereading everything, best if you do the HD on it's own &
jumpered as Master.
Does you comp automatically find the HD, if not you need to go into the
bios & manually find it.

Here is a link that covers invalid partition table.
