Use of The Files and Settings Transfer Wizard

I just purchased a new Compaq Presario to replace my old one. Both computers have WindowsXP Home Edition. I would like to transfer my files and settings from my old computer to my new one. My question is, Do I completely run WindowsXP setup on my new computer before running the Files and Settings Transfer Wizard and do I activate the Transfer Wizard on both computers during the process or just on one?

Take a look at this article by Gary Woodruff. It is a detailed, step by step
guide to using the FASTW.
