Files and Settings Transfer Wizard...

I recently purchased a new Dell PC and used the Files and Settings Transfer
Wizard to transfer everything from my old Dell PC. On the old system,
everything went fine and I placed the transfer files within a share on my new
PC. I deleted all the files on my old PC. I then went to the new PC and
started the Wizard again to import my old stuff. I got an error message that
states that the Files and Settings were created with a previous version, and
that I should retry using an updated version of the wizard. I already
deleted everything from the old PC! My question is this: Have I really lost
all those files and settings from the old PC? Or is there a way I can
install the older version of the Wizard on the new PC?

If you haven't erased the old computer then run the F.A.S.T. wizard on it
and create a floppy disk with the wizard on it to start the wizard from on
the new computer. Failing that try installing the KB896344 update on the new
computer or if it is already installed try uninstalling it. The most common
cause of this error is when one of the computers has this update installed
and the other one doesn't. If that's the problem you have to make it match
the status of the old computer.
