USB CD Burner

Laptop IBM T40 running XP Pro. I want to burn a data CD
using an external USB Burner. I connect it, start NTI
burner program, but I can't see or select the external
drive. How do I get the burner program to recognize the
connected external drive? Thanks.

The CD burner needs to be configured into XP before any program/applucation
can access it. If it is not listed in Device Management, you will need to
make sure that the USB ports are working correctly and that the CD burner
drivers are correctly installed.

I didn't have to do any of that. I upgraded the version
of NTI Burner and the external drive appeared in the drop-
down list. Thanks for your response.
