Uninstalling Pre-Installed Software

I just purchased a new HP Pavillion 520n, and I noticed that there's
alot of software pre-installed that I will never register or use. I
would like to uninstall this software, but don't see any entries under
the Add/Remove Software (ie. Norton AntiVirus, Office XP Trial, etc).

Does anyone now how can I safely go about trimming my desktop without
removing these things manually from the file browser?

The best way is still :

Make sure you have all your CDs and Product Keys

If your CD is not bootable, make the 6 disk XP set of
install floppies (available at http://www.microsoft.com)

Fdisk the hard drive (hint: make at least 3 partitions, 1
for the o/s and application programs, 1 for the swapfile,
and one for your "My Documents" tree ... and keep ALL your
documents, spreadsheets, e-mail msgs/stores, etc in that
tree.)

Reinstall XP (choose NTFS)

Reinstall your additional s/w

To me it seems like the whole thing is bass ackwards.
Seems to me the oldest post should be on the bottom with the responses on
top.

Backwards? Do you normally read from bottom to top?

No I don't
But I would normally open a NG thread at the beginning and read through the
posts one at a time before getting to the last post. Far easier to read than
to simply go to the last post and see everything in a "snipped" fashion
because a poster snipped only what they felt to be "relevant"
But my opinion has since been slightly swayed by the link from relic
http://www.caliburn.nl/topposting.html
I'm still undecided as to what I do or don't agree with on this site but
still generally bottom post as it's the "accepted" way to properly post.

And you don't need ot say it, I know this isn't the case but reading would
make a hell of a lot more sense if it were done this way.

the lamb was sure to go.
and everywhere that Mary went,
Its fleece was white as snow.
Mary Had a little lamb.

Q: Why is top-posting such a bad thing?
A: Top-posting.
Q: What is the most annoying thing on usenet and in e-mail?

Look under the program's folder itself for any "uninstall" icon or
options. Or go to the Program Files\<program>\ and see if any
uninstall icon/program is there.

Worst case, re-install everything from scratch.

-----------------------------
If you knew anything about HP you would know that you can't do a clean
install.
HP Computers don't come with an OS disk, all programs are stored in a
separate section of H/Drive.
from here you can do a complete reinstall or a partial, (I believe they call
it Destructive/Non-Destructive)
either way you will end up with all the crap again...
What I did ( twice now ) was to navigate to the folders of these apps. and
if they did not have an
uninstall icon, delete them myself. A lot of them did show up in the
Add/Remove...
As a point of interest, I have the HP 230n from last year, and since it has
a DVD burner, it comes with a blank DVD disk.
There's an app.that allows you to make a copy of the whole H/Drive, OS &
Apps. you can then delete this from
your H/Drive, gaining space. Since it came with a 120gb H/D this is hardly
necessary though, but I did make the DVD disk,,,
