Unable to Upgrade FP2002

I had FP 2002 installed on my computer for over 1 year.
Lately I had some problems with windows and deleted FP. I reinstalled
FP2000, when I tried to reinstall FP2002 upgrade, for a third time, I get
the following message:
"The patch package could not be opened. Verify that the patch package exists
and that you can access it, or contact the application vendor to verify that
this is a valid Window Installer patch package"

I got my FP2002 upgrade through MS.
I am using Window XP Pro (came with the computer) and Office Pro 2003
(bought from MS)
Does any one has any idea on the fix for this.

I did clean it, but the same message comes up!

Uninstall all Office Applications, then re-install in the order of release, 2000, 2002, 2003.

Note, you do not need to install FP2000 unless you plan to use it, otherwise just install FP2002,
and when prompted for the qualifying product, insert the FP2000 CD, then change the dialog to look
at your CD drive, etc.

When I uninstalled all my Office programs I found FP2002 in the add/delete
program.
I was unable to delete it. I got the same message as when I tried to
installed FP2002.
I reinstalled the programs as you said. I did install FP2000.
I was unable to installed the FP2002 upgrade (same message)
When I start FP I have FP2000.
In the add/del program, FP2000 is not shown but only FP2002 still shown.
Again unable to delete it..

What's next?

Thanks Steph, this utility cleaned it up and I was able to reinstalled
FP2002 without any glitch.
