FP2002 on XP Home

A couple of years ago, when I upgraded my computer to XP Home, I reinstalled
FP2002 (without PWS, as required) and have continued to use FP since then
with no problems, including (as I remember it) publishing my existing website
from the web back down to the computer with the newly set-up FP on it. I
don't recall there being any problems in this process.

Now, I've installed FP2002 on a new laptop (also XP Home) and once again, I
want to publish my website from my host server back down to the laptop, and
be able to update from the laptop ... however, when I view the site
(File>Edit using MS FP) I don't see any of the navigation elements (headers,
etc.)

Clearly, I missed something in the install -- but apparently not because the
PWS couldn't be installed, since that does not hamper the existing version of
FP that's been running on my desktop ...

Can it be the extensions? Do they need to be installed as a separate step?

I appreciate any assistance that can be offered to solve this.

Thank,
GLMoore

Did you follow this procedure when publishing your remote site to your PC?
http://www.outfront.net/tutorials_02/fp_techniques/reverse-publish.htm if
so, then you would open FrontPage, open web, and open the web on your PC
(not File | Edit with FP in your browser).

You would only need the FPSE locally if you were running XP Pro with IIS.

Thanks so much for your prompt reply ... I had not used that procedure and
will do so now.
