Unable to run spell check on new message

A user runs spell check in a new Outlook message and gets a pop up. Window
Title is "MS Outlook". The message is "Error occurred while checking
spelling.". The only way I can get it to work is by using Word as the email
editor. Outlook 2002/SP3. Any suggestions?
