Unable to load/ 'Update' by using SP 2 CD

Hi:
I received the *SP2 CD* that I ordered about two weeks ago.
This morning, I attempted to 'load' SP 2 by using 'CD-RW,'
accessing from My Computer, then click/tick: CD-RW (F).
My computer is manufactured by HP that I purchased two years ago.

Even after 30 - 45 minutes already passed, the CD did NOT show up
on the screen. Then, I'm unable to 'update' SP 2.

Wonder why the SP 2 CD does not come to the screen for
installation? Or, does it take to search 'Update', i.e., critical
Updates(beta, and other security updates) I did other day before
my receipt of SP 2 CD?

Thanks for your help in advance.

Are you saying you updated to SP2 via Windows Update? If
so then you don't need the CD at this time. Keep it safe in the
event you ever need to re-install the OS in the future.

To determine if you have SP2 installed or not, use WIN+BREAK
(System Properties). The General page shows your current
Windows version (e.g., Microsoft Windows XP, Professional,
Version 2002, Service Pack 2).

That said, the CD should autorun, or at least show up in My
Computer, whether SP2 is installed or not. Try it in another
machine. If it still fails to load, perhaps it was damaged in
manufacturer or by the carrier. If so, contact Microsoft for
a free replacement.
