Unable to load java websites properly

I have a problem where most java based websites wont load
properly, or sites with java scripted links wont work.
i am running Windows XP Professional, Service Pack 1
(5.1 - 2600. I have uninstalled MS Java Virtual Machine
and am running the latest version of Sun Java 1.42_04.
The SUn Java box is checked in advanced options. this
problem is particular when using sites with "sign-in"
buttons in java and www.fhm.com. any help appreciated.

Yes I had the same problem. I uninstalled the latest and
reinstalled the microsoft virtual machine and it works OK
now, You cant normally reinstall this but you can with a
program called "XP Lite" which lets you uninstall and re
install XP components that are usually hidden behind the
XP file protection system.

I tried putting the VM back on but still had the same
problems. I want to keep the sun java since MS dont
support VM any more. Im just lost as to what to do now.
