Unable to install critical updates...

Over the last couple of months I've been unable to install updates using the
Windows Update website. Basically, it downloads the five critical updates
but fails to install any of them (see below). I've never had this problem
before. Does anyone know what's going on?

I have Windows XP Home Edition with SP2

I am no expert. But I had the same problem. I got around it by not
downloading from the Update website that checks if you need updates. I
copied down the first one that is failing to install and went to the download
page and downloaded it from there. It worked and then I was able to download
all of the others.
