Unable to have History deleted

I have Windows XP and use AOL thru the Internet Explorer
provided by broadband thru my cable company. I find that
the procedure of erasing HISTORY rarely works. I go thru
the following sequence: TOOLS/INTERNET OPTIONS/CLEAR
HISTORY. In only about 1 of 50 attempts does it do the
deleting. Can anybody out there give me a suggest as to
why I am having trouble?

AOL uses proprietary software. You'll have to ask AOL.
