Help...
I am performing an upgrade of my XP system and in the
middle of the process the system has prompted me
to "Insert the CD labeled: Windows XP Professional
Service Pack 1 CD".

I downloaded Win XP SP1a from Microsoft support (about a
130 Mb file), then copied the individual files & folders
over to a blank CD labeled WINXPSP1.

Problem is that when I insert this CD into the system
being upgraded, it doesn't seem to recognize that this is
the right CD, and continues to prompt me for the Win XP
Pro SP1 CD. I checked the CD that I created to make sure
it was readable, and it is.

Do I need to label the Win XP Pro SP1a CD with a special
label that XP is expecting to see? Or is something else
going on?

Thanks!

You should have copied the 130 MB file to the CD and then run it from there.
Then the SP setup program will extract the files and install from there.
