"trace.log" file takes 3 GB of disk space

A log file name

trace.log(C:\WINDOWS\system32\LogFiles\WMI\trace.log)

takes all the available diskspace in C: drive and left no
space on C: drive.

It can not be deleted from XP, however it can be deleted
from other operating system(windows 2000). After deleting
it again starts taking whatever diskspace left and makes
0KB available.

How can I Get rid of this problem?

There is no log file to configure.

Open Control Panel, open Administrative Tools, open Performance, double
click performance logs and alerts, click counter logs, trace logs and
alerts, in the details pain click the log you want to stop and click stop I
believe on the Action menu.

Did you run bootvis on your computer? If yes, open that program, clear the
log and suspend logging.
