toolbars not responding properly

i have XP and IE6.0 My computer desk dropped it's keyboard holder on the
ground, taking the keyboard and mouse with it. when i got everything back
together, i noticed the toolbars looked odd. the top one was small and
condensed to one line. i am unable to click and drag them to the 'stacked'
look i prefer and "lock the toolbars" option is completely missing, both when
i go to view/toolbars and when i right click on the toolbar. the bottom one
will NOT stay on top although the 'always stay on top" button is clicked.
interestingly enough, if i go to see my email through the messenger option,
THAT window is fine. but if i click to open a new window, it's back to the
weird stuff. help!!!
