This patch package could not be opened

Lately my laptop keep having this Windows Installer pop-up error. My Office
2003 is unable to open and the error message " This patch package could not
be opened...." keeps appearing. I have try to use msicuu2.exe but the error
still there. I am not able to remove or install Office at all. Please advise.

Did you run the CleanUp utility?
You receive the "This patch package could not be opened" error message in Office
2003, in Office XP, or in Office 2000

Great to hear from you.

Yes I have run the cleanup untility which was downloaded from the same
website you have suggested. However, the error still stays even after
re-boot. I have scanned for virus but no-virus was found. I have tried to
re-installed WIN XP but it is still not helpful.

The error message will pop up once I login as well as when I start program
(including my computer, my documents etc). I am able to open other program
except Office 2003.
