"This document failed to print"

Jim P

I am XP Professional, P4 2.6. I consistently get
the "This document failed to print" popping up every 20
seconds while printing on either one of my 2 HP printers.
The print does complete successfully but it pauses every
time I get the message so it slows everything down
considerably. I can't pin down any changes that I made
that corresponds to this starting. It seems only to
happen when printing color. I have downloaded the latest
drivers with no luck. Any ideas. Jim

I have more or less the same problem with an HP Deskjet
880C! I cnnot even print a test page. It is independant
from application and of the type of document black&white
or color. i already reprted the problem to HP, but
without success until now; Did you solve it?
Thanks for help (if you can)

Here is more data for the problem. I have two HP color
printers. It happens on each no matter what type of
application I use to print. Here's a new wrinkle: when I
print from another computer on my lan, it prints without
a problem. I am wondering if it has to do with the print
manager, buffer size, work size, speed of USB, etc. Do
you have anything similar?

I've only seen this on an HP PC using a parallel port - which has not been
set to EPP in the BIOS or on using a USB port when the PSU in the HP PC is
by far inadequate for the PC.

Does this apply to you?
