I have just install windows xp. Firefox works perfiectly.

Whenever I try to bring up msie, instead of loading a page, it asks if
I want to save that page as a file to "my documents" Whether I save
the file or not, msie will go no further. I always get this error
message:

" The file you are downloading cannot be open-ended by the default
program. It is either corrupted or it has an incorrect file type. As a
security precaution, it is recommended that you cancle the download"

I have uninstalled and re-installed msie many times. I have even tried
msie 7. I have scanned for viruses and spyware. Any other idea?

Hi Walter,

It sounds like an issue with Firefox/IE interaction.

Would it be possible to test by tempoarily removing Firefox?
