When I start my computer, the system configuration utility window appears.
This has just started recently. I have gone through the window, but I don't
find any way to stop it from appearing. Help.
Thanks.

There is a small check box at the lower left corner of that dialog
window that you can tick to say in effect "don't bother me about this
again".

That window for selective startup changes opens before the system
configuration utility window. I always check that box after I make a change
to my startup programs, but it never does any good.

That's why you are seeing the utility each time you restart. If you have
resolved the issue that caused you to need to use a selective start then
click on Normal and apply the change. The utility will not show up anymore.
If you have not resolved the issue then you probably should.

No...selective startup.

It is not necessary to use Selective start just because you have unchecked
some items on the Startup tab. Also, only some of the programs that run at
start up are controlled by the Startup folder. Perhaps you can tell us what
programs you are wishing not to run at start up.
