svchost.exe

After I access the internet I get this error message
(svchost.exe has generated an error and will make windows
shut down. You need to restart your computer an error log
is being generated.) I would have to click OK. I could
still browse the internet but I couldn't print. When I
went back to my desktop it wouldn't respond. I would have
to reboot. I have researched microsoft for all of its
listings but nothing I have found has corrected the
problem. Please help

I would like to know how to fix this also. I had the
lovsan virus and this problem came after that. Now I have
three svchost.exe's running at the same time, draining the
resources and I can't find help anywhere. I'm using
Win2000 Pro.

I got the same error after I contracted the blaster virus
last week. I cleaned the viurs, applied the MS patch and
all is well.
