Sure you want Vista?

Do you think that Apple should dictate IPod terms? and they keep trying to
force ITunes onto people who have QuickTime installed..

You are not doing anybody a public service.. you are MS bashing, plain and
simple.. install Ubuntu and have fun with it.. quit trying to force your
views and those of other MS bashers on to people who are quite happy with
MS.. and if you are that serious about wrongful accusation, I suggest you
look at your nations legal system.. .

If you don't like the club rules, just make a quiet exit..

It has been shown and MS agrees WGA has at least at 42% false positive
rate. So with that track record are you going to trust their content
protection/activation schemes?

Well I have never had a problem with WGA myself.

That's something that should be asked of MS' programmers. I have no idea
how it will be done.

And we have no idea if it will be done. Its just a load of hot air at the
moment and alot of assumptions from various media outlets.

What's Apple got to do with it? This thread is about Vista.

Had you looked at my headers, you would know I posted this message while
running Ubuntu.

I suggest you read the article and comment about *that*, not try to
lamely diss my persona in a futile effort to refute me.

I can see some people being upset by activations, WGA, Defender, and more.
Personally I'm fine with it but I can understand that some people aren't. It
may be a consideration for some in their purchase decision.

On the question of DRM the article is wrong. I have one question. How will
you play the protected content at it's highest resolution in Linux or any
other OS that does not toe the line with the content providers?

Hey Alias,

Regardless of what you say, you are being a petty MS basher. It never
surprises me to see one of you doing exactly this. Well aside from attacking
your integrity, which seems easy enough, I have written the rebuttal you are
SO dying for.

Go to the newer post entitled "Petty scrutiny and why opponents can't back
it up", you will find that I have conclusive information about why your
"suggestion" is completely without merit, regardless of how much it will be
ignored.

Why don't people like you just give up, and join us in helping to make the
PC-computing platform better, while taking into consideration that MS is the
pure and simple choice of people who need better things. All the rest of you
are doing is just being bitter and hating the world for wanting to use
something that you think is not right. Something tells me that you're some
wierd "EMO" kid, or similar in respects.

Thanks for the stab at MS, it gave me another opportunity to shoot you guys
down on the not-so-green side of the fence.

Sincerely,
Dustin

P.S...Go listen to your over-priced iPod, calm down, and throw out your
over-priced, non-compatible, non-upgradable, overheating piece of "aqua"
junk, and cool down to a nice new PC. Or, at least....wait a few years until
Apple makes a full conversion to the PC platform and claims that they
invented it.

Why not go to Cold Stone Ice Cream and ask everyone, "Sure you want Ice
Cream?". Most people who come her either have Vista or want Vista and you
are asking if they are sure? Why not just get Linux or better yet, go to
ebay and bid on a nice TRS-80 and go amuse yourself!

Subjective opinion. If you think that MS is going to listen to your
opinions, you need to think again.
All the rest of you
are doing is just being bitter and hating the world for wanting to use

Fourth ad hominem attack.

Um, I don't own an Apple computer or an iPod. Perhaps you are confusing
me with someone else.

A lot of people come here wondering if they should buy Hasta La Vista so
they should be given both sides, not just yours.
Why not just get Linux or better yet,

I am posting from Ubuntu Linux.

My, my how the Microsoft boys love to hurl ad hominem attacks when they
can't refute or respond to content. Tsk, tsk.

What the heck are the 'club rules'?? Do they forbid you from making anti-M$
comments or something? Whatever happened to 'Freedom of Speech'?
IMO, there is nothing wrong with expressing an opinion. I wouldn't say he is
trying to FORCE his views on anyone, just making them known. If you don't
like what he is saying, don't read his posts...
Personally, although I'm not M$'s greatest fan, I do use their products
almost exclusively. I'm not always happy with all aspects of them, but
unfortunatly, the alternatives are not really practical for me to use, and
to be honest, 90% of the time, I can't really complain... However some of
the stuff I've read about Vista recently has given me cause for concern. It
might be that it is all rubbish or at least hugely exagerated, and in
reality will all come to nothing, but it is enough to hold me back for the
time being.

I currently have Windows2000 on my home computer. I will be shortly be
buying a new PC, but it will be coming with XP installed. I have no
intention of buying or installing Vista for at least 6-12 months, and
certainly not until most of the various worrying issues(IMO) raised over the
last few weeks have been proved or disproved.

Have a nice day!,

Very prudent. Good for you.

The measures don't stop the piracy, but they WERE caused by the piracy.

If you are a pirate you are near the bottom of my list of favorable human
beings.

And the way you have been continually fighting Vista I believe I know the
answer to that. Why else would you be so annoyed! You are being shut out
now.

This is an MS help group, and MS bashing in favor of Linux does no favor to
those seeking help if it turns into a political battleground, which is the
intention of the Linux trolls.. freedom of speech does no favors if, when
executed, it only serves to confuse issues.. if the trolls want to air
views, they should create blogs, websites et al, and do it there, not leave
OP's trying to fish for answers given amongst a bunch of politically driven
troll diatribe..

Re. club rules.. the MS EULA spells out the rules.. nobody is being forced
to use MS products, and if somebody does not like or agree the MS EULA, then
they are at liberty to use something else..

No, they were created/caused by the people who wrote the software for
MS. ALL is does is inconvenience paying customers and does NOTHING to
stop piracy.

I've paid for all my software.

LOL! Thank you. That said, do you have a thousand euros to offer in the
place of your mouth? Care to fly over here and check my software to see
if I paid for it or not? Or are you just all talk and erroneous innuendo?

While Alias can be persistent with his anti-Vista spew-
I would love for you to tell me WTF are the "club rules"?

I'll make sure I'm the first to disobey those rules,
quick fast and in hurry.

With parted lips and bated breath, I await your ostentatious elucidation.

You show just how pointless it is to be able to write "MVP" after your
name. No-one is being shut-out of Vista, pirated versions are
available, activated and working, should anyone want to go down that
route. Are you really that unaware of what is going-on around you?

Pirated software is a fact of life... the pirates and hackers are far
more in touch with Microsoft's software than you appear to be. I
guarantee that in 12 months Microsoft will still not be able to stop
pirates, Vista will be well and truly hacked, in the same way that XP
has been and still is, despite WGA. And there really is nothing that
you or Microsoft can do about it.

Play an illegal HD movie on Vista and learn about being shut out.
