When use XP's search function to find a file on a CDRW drive, instead
of getting a result path like: "D:\tools\readme.txt", the search
returns this path for every file found:
"C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\Local Settings\Application
Data\Microsoft\CD Burning\tools\readme.txt".
If I search the same CD in a plain CD/DVD drive, it returns with the
shorter path: "D:\tools\readme.txt"
I assume this has something do to with the virtual CD writer that
holds files that you drag to the drive before writing, since you can't
list files on the CD itself if they haven't been written yet..
Is there any way to stop this long path listing in Search? It makes
it very difficult to show people where the files are on the CD. since
I have to expand the search window, then move the column divider out,
then figure out where the CD path begins and the other ends..
